The geolocation data we show on our site relating to your IP address comes from third parties. We do not maintain our own database.
The information shown will most likely not be 100% accurate. As discussed throughout this site and our Q & A section, the location of an IP Address at best is going to get you to the city level. If you lookup your IP address and the city you live in is not shown, but the city 10 miles away where your ISP is located does, then your IP address geolocation data is about as accurate as it's going to get.
If the information our third parties show is extremely off, like a different state or country, perhaps you should follow the instructions below to get the geo data corrected.
To update this information, first visit our IP Address Lookup page to determine if both third parties are incorrect. If both parties are incorrect then you'll need to contact each provider separately.
